Idea Cellular has expanded its handset portfolio by launching two handset models--Idea Ultra + and Idea FAB. This takes the strength of the mobile handset range by Idea to 19 models. The move comes as a step towards offering affordable devices to foster mobile internet penetration in India's non-metro markets.
Idea Utra + is a dual-SIM smartphone with a Leather back finish priced at Rs 8300. It has a 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor and 1 GB RAM and enables video streaming, browsing, social networking and downloading. It comes with a 12.7 cms screen, 8 mega-pixel and the 2000 mAh battery. The ODM partner for this model is Alcatel. While, the FAB, priced at Rs 4999, offers smooth 'swipe typing' feature, built in social networking apps, GPS, Wifi hotspot, Gorilla Glass, 3.2 MP camera with flash.
Idea entered the market in 2011 with its first handset model. The two latest models will be distributed physically in the circles where Idea has 3G presence and nationally via the operator's online partner Infibeam. The models will be avialable at the Idea stores and local retailaers.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.91% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.44% and 30.65% respectively.
Idea BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 188.35 on 15-Oct-2013 and a 52 week low or Rs 125.10 on 28-Feb-2014.
Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs,155.95 up by 1.10 points or 0.71% from its previous closing of Rs 154.85 on the BSE.
