Tata Power rises as its total customer base crosses 1.9 million landmark in FY14

   



      Tata  Power is India’s largest integrated power company with a significant international presence. The company today has a total power generation capacity of 8613 MW from various fuel sources such as thermal (coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy (wind and solar PV) and waste heat recovery.
     Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has increased its total number of consumers by around 6 percent in FY14 as compared to FY13. In FY14, the Company’s national customer base crossed the 1.9 million landmark, with an increased base of 5 lakh in Mumbai and 14 lakh consumers in Delhi as on April 2014.
     In FY14, Tata Power Mumbai sales stood at 6,500 MUs catering to the increased Mumbai customer base which included the addition of 111,152 changeover and 9,139 direct consumers during FY14. Tata Power’s Delhi customer base grew by 4% in FY14 to reach 1.4 million, with sales of over 8,000 MUs and development of approximately 10,980 Ckm of distribution lines.
     The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 115.25 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 66.20 on 07-Aug-2013.

     The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.04% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.55% and 15.24% respectively.
     Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 100.00 and Rs. 94.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25910.31 crore.
     The scrip opened at Rs. 96.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 96.40 and Rs. 95.10 respectively. So far 42480 shares were traded on the counter.
     Tata Power Company is currently trading  at Rs. 95.30, down  by 0.45 points or 0.47% from its previous closing of Rs. 95.75 on the BSE.
