Sensex rallies over 200 points; Nifty reclaims 7600
The S&P BSE Sensex rallied over 200 points in trade on Monday, led by gains in TCSBSE 0.04 %, Tata Motors, InfosysBSE 1.00 % and L&T.The 50-share Nifty index also started on a firm note and reclaimed its crucial psychological level of 7600, supported by gains in realty, capital goods, banks and auto stocks
At 09:20 a.m.; the 30-share index was at 25,537.27, up 208 points or 0.82 per cent. It touched intraday high of 25,550.72 and a low of 25,476.87 in trade today.
The Nifty was at 7,622, up 54 points or 0.72 per cent. It touched an intraday high of 7,633.55 and a low of 7,619.55 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.81 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index edged higher by 0.91 per cent.
M&M (up 2.1 per cent), Tata MotorsBSE 2.38 % (up 1.8 per cent), HDFC (up 1.7 per cent), Sesa Sterlite (up 1.4 per cent) and HDFC (up 1.3 per cent) were among the major Sensex gainers.
DRL (down 0.45 per cent) and ITC (down 0.2 per cent) were the major index losers.
