The top gainers on the sensex were Maruti Suzuki up by 2.48%, Bharti Airtel up by 1.87%, HUL up by 1.22%, ICICI bank up by 0.23%, and Hero MotoCorp up by 0.11%. On the flip side, the key losers were Hindalco Inds down by 3.71%, Gail India down by 3.07%, Tata Power down by 3.06%, Cipla down by 3.02% and NTPC down by 2.93%.
